Utilising their years of experience, Corporation Rangers strike ahead of the main force. Anne-Marie Helder is as much of a striking presence off the pitch as on it with her well-known strings of legal actions against the DGB for discrimination against larger players being trained as Strikers. She will play for any team that will at least pretend to offer the opportunity, and many teams are happy to at least consider it because when she decides to be a Guard then she is a force to be reckoned with. Her style is not elegant or even unusual it is simply effective. She Slams opponents just like other human Guards, they just stay slammed longer!

If eating your greens makes you grow up big and strong, then Buzzcut must have devoured forests as a child because he is huge. On the pitch he wears some armour, but generally plays almost stripped to the waist as if preparing for some manual labour which, in a way, he is. His usual excuse is that the uniforms come off when he gets into a fight anyway, and it is true that things seem to break when he is about. This doesn’t stop him being fined in almost every game for being improperly attired. As if he cared.

DreadBall’s rules state very clearly that a player must play as a single position, but they never considered that someone could change from one to another within a match. The robots can. They troop out onto the pitch as Jacks, but at the whirr of a servo they can change to a Striker or a Guard, avoiding any infringement of the letter of the rules by only ever being a single role at a time, but the spirit of the rules is ridden over roughshod. And the crowd loves it.

DBR-7 “Firewall” is the product of advanced research by Mutsunembu LLC to muscle in on the lucrative Sports Robot market to fulfil a gap for a Keeper variant. By the time Firewall was ready however the gap had already closed and new technology made it possible for the latest batch of Sports Bots to transform into this fourth type. Despite this, DBR7 prototype was put through its paces on the DreadBall Pitch and was so successful that the DGB decided to purchase him for his PR value. Many years on, and it would be hard to imagine the MVP circuit without him.

Nobody expects Forge Fathers to be fast, and it’s true that even Gorim is unlikely to break any records against the Veer- myn. But among his kin he shows a real turn of speed. Whilst you might be forgiven for expecting an old warrior to take up the game as a Guard, Gorim now avoids combat entirely, preferring instead to pay as little attention to the opposition as possible as he goes about his scoring. This entails absorbing quite a lot of punishment, which he soaks up without complaint. As his fans in the crowd roar, “He can take it!”

The Gorim Ironstone MVP blister pack contains a single Dreadball miniature, a clear plastic base and one Mantic point.
